Hataraku Maou-sama

Title: Hataraku Maou-sama aka The Devil is a Part-Timer!
Genre: Comedy, Fantasy, Romance, Action
Episodes: 13
Summary (Taken from Wiki) : The Demon Lord and one of his generals, Alciel, escape Ente Isla through a portal to modern Tokyo, Japan after being confronted by the Hero Emilia Justina and her companions. However, due to the lack of magic in the modern contemporary world, both the Demon Lord and Alciel change into forms representing what they would look like if they were human. In order to survive, the Demon Lord takes a part-time job in a fast food restaurant named MgRonald while Alciel serves as his houseman. One day, the Demon Lord, who now goes by Sadao Maou, meets a girl who is actually the Hero Emilia, who now goes by Emi Yusa.

Characters:

Emi
Yusa Emi (Emilia Justina)
The "Hero" from Ente Isla. After forcing The Demon Lord to retreat, she ended up chasing him into a portal that leads them to modern day Japan. She lost her magic powers upon her arrival and has no choice but to work to survive. She works as a call center agent.

Maou
Maou Sadao (Satan Jacob):
The "Devil Lord" from Ente Isla. Forced to retreat during a showdown with The Hero and her companions, he ended up in modern day Japan with his last surviving Demon General, Alciel. To survive, he works part time in a fast food restaurant called MgRonald.

Ashiya
Shirou Ashiya (Alciel):
One of The Demon Lord's Generals who ended up in    modern day Japan with him. He's extremely loyal to Maou  and takes care of the domestic duties at home while researching ways for them to get back to Ente Isla. He's often concerned about their spending expenses.

Chiho
Sasaki Chiho:
Maou's friend and an employee in MgRonald who's in love with Maou. She later finds out about Emi's and Maou's true identity and has been involved in various Ente Isla incidents that happened in Tokyo.

Thoughts:

The pot is rather interesting since it's not everyday that you get to see the Demon Lord work in a part-time job. Especially in MgRonald (or rather, McDonalds). You have a Hero who's out to kill the Demon Lord and a Demon Lord who's working part-time in order to survive. Add in a General who's extremely loyal and who does all the housework and throw in a high-school girl who has a crush on the Demon Lord as well as various demons from Ente Isla coming to Tokyo for the Demon Lord's or Emi's head...you'll have a mixture of laughter, action and badassery. In some episodes you'll laugh your butts off the chair while in others you sit at the edge of the chair, wondering what would happen next. Emotional scenes are a given especially with how the series develops the relationship between Emi, Maou and Chiho.

I picked this series up when it was half-completed since I heard it was really good and I'm glad i did. The anime was extremely hilarious and the characters were not bad too. Well, Emi is pretty violent but given how she was brought up i'm sure many of us can forgive that. And don't mind the scenes where Emi stalks Maou. It's a little creepy but funny. In any case, give this anime a try if you like Comedies. -grins-
